Diabetes Leadership Council Recognizes

Incoming Congressional Diabetes Caucus Co-Chair

WASHINGTON - The Diabetes Leadership Council (DLC), a diabetes and health care reform advocacy organization advancing patient-centered policies at the local, state, and federal levels, today issued the following statement: "We are thrilled to hear that the Congressional Diabetes Caucus has announced a new House co-chair and look forward to working more closely with Congressman Bilirakis in his new role.

“As a leading voice for over 37 million Americans living with diabetes, we continue to challenge and implore Congress to less talk and more action. With a full leadership suite in place, we are hopeful that the largest caucus in Congress can now to create meaningful change for our community. We invite and welcome an opportunity to engage Congressman Bilirakis as we have Congresswoman DeGette, and Senators Collins and Shaheen on the needs of people with diabetes including insulin affordability, treatment and management options and technology access, as well as emerging therapies for those not yet diagnosed.”
